Every time a design is longer than the field you have to split it and re-hoop, and re-hooping is where designs can come out crooked. Ten and a quarter inches removes that step for most of what people embroider. Color Sort is the one that saves real time: stitch the same design several times in one hoop and the machine reorders the whole run so you change thread fewer times.
