But that seam adds bulk exactly where your quilting has to cross it, it has to be pressed open and kept straight while the quilt is loaded, and on a longarm it is one more thing that can pull out of square as the quilt advances.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA single width of 108 inch backing removes all of that. Your quilting nearly disappears if the bobbin thread matches, and shows sharply if it does not.
